The international work of ZOA is coordinated from the Netherlands. ZOA is active in multiple countries in Africa, South America, Middle East Region and Asia. ZOA works with approximately 900 employees worldwide and also with (local) partners.
ZOA is looking for a
The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) officer supports the MEAL specialist in providing MEAL knowledge and support to ZOA globally.
Your main tasks and responsibilities
The MEAL officer supports the MEAL specialist with a specific focus on the following areas:
The use of ZOA Manager, especially the log frame modality, by country offices;
The reporting through IATI;
The use of standardised indicators;
Improvement of MEAL sections in project proposals.
Make sure the log frame modality in ZOA Manager, the ZOA’s project management tool which has been rolled out in all country offices, is correctly and consistently used by the country offices;
Able to use the data in ZOA Manager to report in IATI when required by donors as well on all projects;
Make sure all countries report on standardised indicators for their main sectors on an annual basis;
Where necessary, the MEAL Officer supports the MEAL Specialist in supporting the ZOA Country offices. Upon request from and in collaboration with the MEAL specialist, support is offered to country offices regarding MEAL activities, which can include among other things:
development, improvement or contextualization of MEAL tools and methodologies;
data quality improvement and data analysis;
review of MEAL section in project proposals;
support on learning sessions on MEAL topics through webinars.
Knowledge of and experience with the main MEAL approaches, concepts and methodologies;
Strong analytical skills;
Extensive skills in the use of MS Excel (or willing to learn);
Knowledge of and experience with other statistical software is an advantage;
Good communication skills in speaking and writing in the English language;
Knowledge of the French and Dutch language is an advantage;
Knowledge of and experience with IATI is an advantage;
At least two years of experience with MEAL related subject;
Master degree in international development, or a related subject.
Strongly motivated and result oriented;
Willing to go the extra mile;
Well organized in archiving and/or documenting the work.
The position is Netherlands based, but requires extensive communication with ZOA staff in the programme countries. Regular visits to ZOA Country Offices are expected in this role. In order to be eligible for this role, a work permit for the Netherlands is required.
