RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Country Director, your role will be to provide coordination and leadership of the emergency response project funded by ACF France, and to further develop discussions with UNICEF for the future RRM project. Due to Covid-related travel restrictions, many organizations’ focal points working from various destinations, remote management will continue to be the most effective approach to this role.
More precisely, you’ll be responsible of :

  • Strategy Design, Development and Implementation
  • Analysis and External Engagement
  • Staff Coordination and Support
  • Funding, Budget Management, Proposal Development and Reporting
  • Internal Coordination, Capacity Building and Technical Support

REQUESTED PROFILE

  • Significant knowledge and experience of policy and practice of humanitarian assistance, with at least 5 years implementation experience in complex emergencies, including insecure environments.
  • Ability to represent a collaborative consortium with political sensitivity to a variety of audiences, from senior government officials and donors to a wide range of senior humanitarian practitioners.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary/cross-sector humanitarian response, advocacy and communications, often requiring a high degree of independent judgement and negotiating skills.
  • Great communication skills, with a demonstrable ability to articulate complex and sometimes competing ideas and experiences simply.
  • Proven management experience of staff management, including strong financial management skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, and ability to manage own workload and meet organisational and external deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural team skills, together with the ability to remain calm under pressure and not lose sight of strategic priorities, even when working remotely.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong commitment to humanitarian action with a high level of energy and creativity.
    Desirable:
  • Experience of working in the Middle East.
  • Experience leading an NGO consortium.
  • Fluency in Arabic (written and verbal)

SPECIFIC CONDITIONS / SALARY

Contract and benefits

  • 12 months fixed term contract under French legislation
  • Monthly gross salary from 2450EUR to 2800EUR upon experience
  • Per diem and living allowance: $302 + $426 (cf eurocost) net, field paid.
    • 450EUR as country allowance
    • 16% of monthly gross for non-French citizen for retrocession of retirement and unemployment insurance

  • 100% coverage of medical expenses + repatriation insurance.
    Leaves and RnR
  • 25 days of paid leaves per year.
    • 20 RnR per year (and additional days to cover the RnR period rotation when necesserary)
    • 215 EUR at each RnR period (every 6-8 weeks) + Flight Allowance
