Assist Philippines program and Asia Division staff with program activities, events, and workshops. Assist in research on a variety of topics, trends, and technical areas relevant to ABA ROLI’s work. Assist in preparing reports and presentations.
The Philippines program, entitled Access to Justice and Support for the Rule of Law in the Philippines (ACCESS), is fully funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), with a central goal of directly benefitting the most vulnerable communities in the Philippines. ACCESS has four main objectives: support civil society to enhance access to justice across the Philippines, including a large sub-grant program to support Filipino organizations to reach marginalized communities with legal information, awareness about their rights and greater access to justice; increase awareness of citizens’ rights and access to legal aid services, advice, and representation; strengthen alternative dispute resolution mechanisms within and outside the court system; and leverage USAID-supported initiatives to support the efficient and fair administration of justice.
